2003 Upper Deck SP Game-Used Golf

From Michael Eisner, for About.com

While I don’t play golf very often, I must admit that I am a sucker for a good golf match on the tube. And, while I don’t get to watch it very often, I must further admit that I am even more of a sucker for a good box of golf trading cards.

Enter stage left – 2003 Upper Deck SP Game-Used golf.

I finished ripping through a sealed 6-pack pox of this stuff in roughly 2 minutes and thoroughly enjoyed every single second of it. As a matter of fact, when I think back to last year’s SP Game-Used golf product, I distinctly recall liking that, too.

Comparably speaking, this year’s version blows away last year’s – period.

For beginners I pulled 6 autographs including a “buy-back” double-shirt Fred Couples and a Renditions Mike Weir. For some reason, I also pulled 2 different Charles Howell III autographs, which I am sure will make “Lovie” very proud.

In addition to the aforementioned autographs, which were not guaranteed, every pack contained at least one event-worn shirt card (these were). The notable shirt cards I received were Fred Couples and Arnold Palmer.

All the usual suspects are here, from Tiger Woods to Arnold Palmer to Jack Nicklaus to Annika Sorenstam. From certified autographs to event-worn shirt cards, this product has a chance to yield some really fantastic pulls!

Now, don’t get me wrong – this stuff is the most expensive golf product on the market, so it might not be appropriate for the novice collector.

But, what I can tell you is that if you have $30 burning a hole in your pocket, and you enjoy taking a shot a pulling a Tiger Woods autograph – give 2003 Upper Deck SP Game-Used golf a shot.
