Carlsbad, CA (March 24, 2004)- With Spring Training winding down and the start of the baseball season right around the corner The Upper Deck Company launches its fan favorite online game SportsNut. After a successful debut, SportsNut returns with new twists and bigger prizes. The easy-to-play online fantasy game and cards can be purchased at www.sportsnut.com. SportsNut combines sports card collecting with the enthusiasm of fantasy sports and online technology.

According to Steve Berns, Upper Deck's Marketing Brand Manager...
"The launch of our 2004 SportsNut Fantasy Baseball Game includes a variety of new and interactive technology enhancements that will excite baseball enthusiasts of all ages. In addition, SportsNut compliments our great new lineup of sports cards for the upcoming season. SportsNut reaffirms our commitment to bringing fans of all ages closer to the game in a fun and safe online environment."

How To Play
The game is simple enough to play, provided one has a computer with Internet access. "SportsNut" game card packs can be purchased online. Fans can purchase starter decks, booster packs and trade tickets to help strengthen their roster. This season's SportsNut has expanded the lineups to include: 2 batter, 1pitcher and one utility player that can be either a pitcher or a hitter. There are a total of 90 different player cards to collect including 60 batters and 30 pitchers. Therefore, the more game cards a collector has, the more player options he has to make to his weekly starting lineup.

New this season is the introduction of the Trade ticket. SportsNut participants now can trade for players using two methods. "Wheel and Deal" is one way to acquire a different player to add to your roster. A participant can trade a player with the computer and receive a random player back from the system. The other method is "Negotiation" where two participants negotiate an exchange of players with one another.

Prizes to Win
The points that players accumulate each week can then be used to bid on unsigned collectibles and autographed memorabilia located at Upper Deck's newly unveiled "Rewards Program" auction site: www.udrewards.com. Your season's game points start fresh every season allowing you to compete equally every week, however your overall rewards points will carry over for 3 years allowing you to win larger prizes.

New for the 2004 Season
Upper Deck has added new features for this year's baseball season. Participants can now view their rosters and make changes to their lineup via wireless devices. Using a WAP wireless device roster changes can be made from anywhere at anytime. Participants can now purchase various player packages from www.sportsnut.com to fill out their rosters. Also new decoy cards found in 2004 MLB Upper Deck baseball products will contain access to a player or discounts to purchase more players.

SportsNut can only be played online with virtual cards.
