"NFL head coaches are increasingly receiving more credit for their contributions to team success and in the process continue to attract major media coverage," said Nick Matijevich, Playoff's football brand manager. "In many cases, head coaches are as popular with fans as the players they coach. We just felt the time was right to create autographed rookie cards for some of the biggest names in the coaching game who have legitimate Hall of Fame potential.
"This is something that team collectors will absolutely covet while providing the 10th anniversary edition of Contenders with another history-making edge and a great deal of additional buzz."
Back in 1998, Playoff Contenders became the first product in industry history to include autographed rookie cards.
The 2003 version, which carries an SRP of $6 per pack, will include four autographs per box on average and many of the brand's landmark inserts, such as Legendary Contenders Autographs, Round Numbers Autographs and Rookie of the Year Contenders Autographs.
