Topps Don Mattingly

Don Mattingly Autographed Card

Mike Eisner
Aug 21 2003
Topps has always been good at setting trends. Whether it was anointing Bowman the “home of the rookie card,” or inserting a game-used memorabilia piece in every pack of Tribute, the hobby as always looked to Topps for cutting-edge hobby products.

Enter Topps Retired Signature.

Within every pack of Retired Signature is a certified autograph of a retired superstar. And on top of that, each card is encased in a Topps un-circulated holder and sealed with a Topps hologram to ensure its authenticity and high-grade condition.

Each box contains 5 factory-sealed packs and carries a suggested retail price of $29.99 per pack.

The breakdown of our box as follows: Encased Un-circulated Autographs – Bert Blyleven, Don Larsen, Terry Pendleton, Ron Santo; Encased Un-circulated Autograph Refractor – Alan Trammell (#/25).

While our box did not yield the top-flight superstars that I have seen on eBay such as Nolan Ryan, Mike Schmidt and George Brett, I was very satisfied with the player selection and, of course, the Trammell autograph refractor.

Overall, this product is reasonably priced considering the fact that every pack contains a guaranteed autograph of a retired star or superstar. The encased un-circulated technology adds a classy touch to an already high-class offering. I mean, right down to the box design, this product is about as high-end as you can get.

If you are looking for a product that guarantees results and is priced south of some of the other company’s high-end releases, look no further than 2003 Topps Retired Signature.

Each pack retails for $29.99 with boxes containing 5 packs each.
