Frankoma Pottery Plant Closes

Tuesday January 4, 2005
December 31, 2004 was a dark day for pottery lovers as the longtime Oklahoma business, Frankoma Pottery closed its doors. Since opening in 1933, the company has survived two devastating fires and a bankruptcy in 1991. At that time, the ownership changed from the Frank family to H. Bernstein, an out-of-state investor. The plant may be closed, but there are still hopes that it will re-open in the springtime with new owners.

Administrative manager, Kandy Steeples, is quoted in The Oklahoman as being optimistic, "I know of at least two parties that are interested". The company is listed to sell for 1.6 million.
