Pixie Jar Helps Find a Brother

Wednesday September 17, 2003
In a truth is stranger than fiction story, the Pixie Cookie jar from Grant-Howard has lead to Bob Kunath finding a brother he never knew existed. Kunath found a Pixie jar at a flea market he rarely visits and it just struck a cord with him. The seller was firm at $150. so Kunath decided to try and find it on eBay. He did for the much fairer price of $35.

After he received the jar, he noticed the seller's name was familiar and after several back and forth emails, it was discovered he was Kunath's full biological brother!

I chatted with Kunath about the jar and found out that he wasn't a cookie jar collector, but he really liked the old Holt-Howard pieces. Hence the attraction to the new jar which was made as a replica of the original Pixieware figures. Holt-Howard never made a Pixieware jar, but Grant-Howard (yes, the same Howard) decided to bring Pixie back to life as a cookie jar earlier this year.

Kunath has been besieged by TV reporters and shows from all over the country and you just might see him and his Pixie jar on a national TV show soon! Just a few of the shows that have contacted him include 20/20, John Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and Good Morning America.
