I love to collect holiday stuff! Easter, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, name the holiday and I probably have at least few things in my stash for that special day. We collect only antique Halloween as well as all the other holidays.
We do have an appreciation for the artist made things of today, as
we also make ornaments & decorations and know how difficult it is
to do good things. Collecting has also helped us with the appreciation
of old as well as new items. We just don’t have room for many new
things but ocassionally a new items is just too good to pass up and
we purchase it….for example the small works of Scott Smith and
Will Bezek have been recently added…their work is just so outstanding
that we had to add them AND they work with the antique Halloween
items in our collection.
I’m not a collector however after having lived in my home of 22 years it sometimes seems that items collect themselves. I’m trying to learn how to reverse the trend and liquidate.
