
What do you think about this piece? It's an antique, but the owner isn't sure if it's very old or a 19th century revival piece. I would estimate the size of this iron piece to be in the five to six inch range.

Looks like a desk piece. Candle stick at top, Slots to hold dipping pens and a rotating ink well at the bottom. Combination candle stick ink well. Would guess circa 1860′s.
Dennis sounds so sure of himself! I was going to say the bit on the top looks like a spool of thread, so I thought it might be some sort of bobbin winder, or other sewing related machine. So hard to tell from a picture.
