The Mystery of the Week is back with a reader-submitted image. Scott L. is trying to figure out just what he has and I'll admit to being a bit confused too.
The two pieces lock together when the pins are turned. Size is 2" across and 1 3/16" high.

I would suggest that its use is for pipe tobacco, in order to shread tobacco leaves once placed into it, and then by turning the top & bottom clockwise and anti-clockwise, the leaves will be shreaded in readiness to smoke?
It’s an herb grinder
it’s a meat tenderizer…?
My first thought was an herb grinder, too, but the posts look rounded, which wouldn’t grind very well…wish the pic was more of a closeup!
It’s on the small side, but maybe it could be used to separate textile fibers for spinning? (Fine ones…it’s too small for carding wool or a similar operation.)
Local US headshops sell these for grinding marajauna.

My thought was an herb (of any kind) shredder, or perhaps seeder.
