I absolutely love looking at old magazines and books, the older the better, for Christmas related articles.
I found this illustration in a Harper's Monthly Magazine, circa 1872. The article is a very lengthy poem of Santa and Cupid.

I would love to see this poem. Learning how our Christmas legends have found their way into our celebrations has always fascinated me. This is one I have never heard! Please share?
The poem is many pages long, but since it’s out of copyright, I have thought about putting it up. It is not the real legend, as that goes back centuries and there are as many different stories about how it got started a there are names for Santa.
I will try and get the poem up by next week’s newsletter!
