Even after writing about Collectibles for over a decade, I'm still surprised at the different things folks collect. It's not any different with holiday collectors. When attending the Golden Glow conventions, the exhibits were amazing and mind-boggling. But it wasn't always the most expensive items that caught my eye, it just proved that folks collecting anything and everything. And it's all amazing when grouped together.
Those collections gave me the idea of coming up with unusual things that people like to collect, stuff that might be a little harder to find, but at least you're assured that not everyone is looking for the same thing.
For me it's always been about the search and find -- check out these ideas and let me now what you think. I still have a more ideas to add to the mix, but be sure to share your thoughts. Do you collect anything unusual?? Tell us about it!

Hi Barb, I love to collect Royal Ruby glassware and Anchor Hocking’s Waterford waffle weave pattern for the holidays. The deep red of the Royal Ruby, combined with the crystal clear diamond cut pattern are perfect for creating a dazzling table or buffet.
I also love Royal China’s Memory Lane dinnerware as the red and white Currier & Ives prints with the oak leaf and acorn trim just say Thanksgiving and Christmas to me.
Stenciled Shiny Brite ornaments are another love of mine, but the one ornament I’m having a hard time finding in good shape are a glass, glow in the dark ornament, with an opaque creamy background and little peach colored dots with glitter dots surrounding them. We had these when I was a child and the whole kit and kaboodle got stolen one time when we were moving. I’ve found 3 in fair shape, but had seen a set on ebay a few years ago that got away from me. Italian indents are also a favorite ornament.
Lastly, popcorn tins with vintage looking graphics. They are great for decor, and good storage containers all wrapped up in one. !
Hi Barb ~
Couldn’t remember (having a senior moment again, lol) if I wrote to you before about always looking for Billiard Xmas Ornaments for my son, as I started him on a collection of those quite a few years ago, since he loves shooting pool and now owns his own Pool Hall. I give him one every year for Xmas and haven’t bought a duplicate yet, but they are hard to find sometimes. So if I see a few he doesn’t have, I buy them when I see them. He also collects Dragons and last year I was lucky to find an ornament that had a Dragon shooting pool!
