I'm sure you can easily figure this out, but I was surprised to see one made of glass. Do you know what this is or when it was used?

Looks like a clamp-on handle for a corning ware cassorole which can also be used stove-top.
This is a cheese slicer.
If memory serves, Grandma had one! Pyrex made them – handle for
casseroles. Haven’t seen one in a long time!
I wouldn’t trust it to hold anything, especially not when hot.
The guesses above are probably correct …. but the item reminds me of a curling iron my Grandma used. She’d heat it on the stove and then torture her granddaughters with it, fruitlessly trying to make our straight hair curly!! Ahhh, God love ya, Gram! xo
Looks like maybe a dipstick to me.
It’s a handle for the old clear blue Pyrex casseroles. I have 6 different sized ones and they still cook great on top of the stove and oven. The handles are very sturdy.
It is a handle for a corning ware pot.
It is a handle for the Pyrex Flameware range of casseroles, which, as Karen said, are blue in color.
