Mystery of the Week

By , About.com Guide   January 24, 2012

Follow me on:

This is the same thing as last week's Mystery -- the one that wasn't guessed! So you have another chance to try and figure out both of them.

This particular item is about 7-8" long, is also two pieces ( hard to see the second piece on the bottom) and was offered for sale at $125.

Thoughts, comments, guesses? The correct answer and the most creative answer gets a mention in next week's newsletter -- so tell me what you think!

Do you ever give the correct answers to the mystery item
I have a huge collection of Partiotic item, besides being able to decorate a large Christmas tree, I have over 400 other items. Do you know if there is a market for these or if anyone is interested in purchasing them for a museum.

Used for keeping shoes, or boots, in shape. Called a shoe stretcher, or shoe shaper. At least that’s what mom called them.

(12) Two-Eagle says:

It’s a forming tool, possibly for leather but could also be used on other materials such as lead. In any case, it was heated for use. When I had my blacksmith shop, I made a copy of one of these for a restoration site.
