Do You Theme Holiday Decorations?

By , About.com Guide   November 16, 2009

Follow me on:

When you collect a lot of holiday stuff, over the years the trees will all develop their own themes. I'm the first to admit I get carried away a bit. But even for those who aren't quite as crazy as I am, I know many who will have a few theme trees around the house.

So tell me -- what's your favorite themes. Is it by color? Collectible? Material? Age?

Tell us about it in the comment section!

Like you I too had many Holiday items. I have downsized over the years. I still have my Disney tree and my Hand blown glass tree and David has his Cowboy tree. But I no longer have my all pig tree. And I split up all the older ornaments with the boys. So only 3 trees going up this year. If we go anywhere the 4th (Miniature tree) will be in the motor home, but I doubt we will be leaving this year.

Peppermints, snowmen, santa, candy canes, red/white candy cane ribbon, MORE peppermints, “strategically” blended with the kid’s handmade ornaments from years ago! Oh the macaroni, glitter, styrofoam and painted hand prints blend seamlessly!!! Okay, maybe not- but so cute and great memories/reminiscing for the now “adult” kids when each “treasure” is rediscovered when trimming the tree!!!
