What's Hot? Dept. 56 Halloween Villages!

That's what Ben of the Merry Christmas Shop (Dillard, GA) reports, they've already sold out and had to reorder Department 56 Snow Village Halloween pieces. Particularly popular is the new Monsters of the Deep and, an older piece, Grimsley Manor.
This also ties in with a publication I received this week, the August/September issue of Village D-Lights with loads of Halloween display ideas -- if only I had the time and space! They have a how-to article on how to make a spooky stone wall, pictures of the Department 56 Snow Village Halloween's 10th Anniversary Rickety Railroad Station series, as well as some great pictures of collector Jim Murphy's Halloween display.

Barbara, thanks so much for info. on the Village D-Lights mag. I’m a big “village” person (2 Halloween and at least 3 Christmas). I even took at class at a local Dept. 56 store to learn how to do the styrofoam cutting, make ponds, etc. Hopefully this magazine will inspire me to get back to the creative part of the hobby.
You’re welcome — Every time I get an issue I get inspired!
