Superman

Tuesday June 27, 2006
Just in case you've been living in a cave and weren't aware of it, the newest Superman movie opens this week. Tons of Superman stuff is showing up everywhere, but why buy new when you can get some really neat vintage goodies.

Hake's Auction closes this week, but here are a few items that definitely got my attention:

    Superman Hood/Bicycle Ornament
Made in 1946 a metal ornament that could be used for either automobiles or bicycles -- obviously before we became safety conscious. Although I think it would be the perfect touch on the front of my M3.
Sold for $4,312. (including buyer's premium)

    Expensive Superman Socks
This was one pair that stayed together and didn't get lost in the laundry room.
Minimum bid of $250. was not met.

    Superman Krypton Rocket Set
    Boxed and complete
Sold for $365.90 (including buyer's premium)

    Superman Tooth Power Dental Set
This was a giveaway and comes with an eight page comic.
Sold for $1082.28 (including buyer's premium)

    Superman Poster
1966 poster shows Superman breaking chains of Kryptonite.
Sold for $112.00 (including buyer's premium)

    Superman Mego Figure
    Very cool 8" poseable figure.
Sold for $203.28 (including buyer's premium)
