eBay Feedback Changes
Tuesday July 5, 2005
When Bill Cobb, President of eBay North America, announced feedback changes -- the applause was wild! Although it's a small change, it is a start with more to be coming. The biggest change is when an eBay "newbie" tries to leave a negative or neutral comment. Before they can leave the comment, they will be given information and have to do a tutorial on trying to resolve the problem before comments can be made.
Feedback will also be removed of any user who is indefinitely suspended within 90 days of registration. Further changes include feedback will be neutralized by members who choose not to take part in resolution process.

Barbara Crews,
the applause was wild because the announcement came in front of eBay employees, not eBay sellers. In a couple weeks, it will become more public that eBay buyers regularly blackmail eBay sellers about feedback, regardless of circumstances.
By now it should be just as blatantly apparent that the furor of negative reactions to this new lopsided policy is just as loud. To allow only one side to leave negative feedback without any consequences whatsoever is to encourage it to do so and discourages constructive mutual resolution of differences. I thought sending people to the back of the bus and denying them the right to vote went out with the last century.
Goodbye eBay.
I think this lady is either stupid or cunning. Sellers cannot leave negative feedbacks on buyer any more. That’s rediculous!
How can a change in a community in which one party can leave any feedback they want and the other party can only leave positive feedback be seen as a good thing?
